Opening in 2027, Catherine McAuley Primary School will be a new Catholic primary school serving the growing Port Stephens community. As a founding teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, curriculum and learning experiences that will define the school for years to come.
For teachers commencing in Term 4, 2026, dedicated release time will be provided to support the school's preparation for opening. Working collaboratively with the Principal and foundation team, you will contribute to the establishment of high-quality curriculum, assessment and teaching practices, while creating engaging learning environments and resources ready to welcome our first students.
Founding staff will also have the opportunity to contribute to key areas of school life, including First Nations education, sport, wellbeing and student leadership. Together, you will help design the programs, structures and practices that will bring these priorities to life from day one.
From Term 1, 2027, teaching roles will operate within the school's contemporary and collaborative learning model. Teachers will work alongside colleagues to co-plan, co-design and co-deliver learning experiences, using evidence-informed practice and student data to maximise outcomes for every learner.
Purpose-built to support this approach, the school's modern and flexible learning environments will foster collaboration, innovation and team teaching, creating spaces where both students and staff can learn, grow and thrive.
