Good Samaritan Catholic College in Bli Bli, part of Brisbane Catholic Education, seeks a Primary Learning Leader to support teachers, drive collaborative planning and improve student outcomes.

You will provide professional data-driven guidance, feedback on pedagogy, and promote literacy and numeracy across curriculum areas while supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student progress.

About our school
Good Samaritan Catholic College, located in Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast, is a Prep to Year 12 institution that opened in 2019. The College has steadily grown and now accommodates approximately 1500 students. The first cohort of seniors graduated in 2024.

Summary

Commencing in 2027 Good Samaritan Catholic College based in Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a Primary Learning Leader to join leadership team where you will play a pivotal role in supporting teachers, fostering collaboration, and driving improved student outcomes.

• Location: Good Samaritan Catholic College - Bli Bli (S)
• Work hours: 30.00 hours per week
• Salary: $86,601.00 - $124,725.00 + 12.75 % Super + PLL Allowance
• Status: Full Time Fixed Term/Variation

This is a continuing teaching appointment, with an initial appointment into the Primary Learning Leader position including Primary Learning Leader Allowance, concluding after three years. After the intial three-year appointment, a review is conducted and an additional three-year appointment can offered, subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing requirement of the position.

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Providing professional support in the use of data to track student progress at individual, cohort and whole school level, making modifications to improve student outcomes, and plan for further learning.
• Providing teachers with feedback on classroom pedagogy and planning.
• Supporting teachers in the use of formative assessment to inform teaching and curriculum decision making.
• Promoting and facilitating an understanding of the literacy and numeracy demands and practices within each curriculum area.
• Monitoring and analysing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student achievement data in literacy to accelerate literacy progress.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

• Mentoring, coaching and advising teachers on classroom pedagogy and planning.
• Strong data analysis skills to track student progress and inform instructional adjustments, inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student progress.
• Experience in promoting and facilitating literacy and numeracy strategies across curriculum areas.
• Expertise in using formative assessments to guide curriculum decisions and improve student learning.
• Knowledge of literacy and numeracy strategies across various curriculum areas to support teachers.

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
