Job summary

TOMRA is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Trade Assistant to join our Field Service team. You will travel to the Truganina warehouse each day, collect a fully equipped vehicle, and perform preventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades on Reverse Vending Machines in Western Victoria and Tasmania.

Regular travel within VIC/TAS is expected, with notice for trips. As part of the background checks you will provide a driver history, police check, and pass a pre-employment medical with drug and

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hands-on role with equipment maintenance.
• Proficiency with hand tools used in field service.
• Commitment to safety and quality in maintenance tasks.
• Tag and test licence desirable for equipment verification.
• Forklift licence desirable for material handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades on field equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in TOMRA machines.
• Assist Field Service Technicians with on-site servicing and corrective work.
• Complete service reports, capture faults, parts used and actions taken.
• Maintain accurate inventory and perform stock checks as required.
• Travel within VIC/TAS to client sites, with notice for extended trips.
• Deliver strong customer service and comply with safety policies.

Join TOMRA as a Preventative Maintenance Trade Assistant and help our Field Service team keep our Reverse Vending Machines performing at their best.

You will travel to our Truganina warehouse each day to collect your fully equipped vehicle and hit the road to performpreventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades on our Reverse Vending Machines and equipment out in the field across Western Victoria and Tasmania. (Regular travel within VIC/TAS is part of the role, and we’ll give reasonable notice before trips.)

As part of the background process you will provide a driver history record, federal police check and attend a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.

Some of the duties you may perform include (But not limited to)

• Strip, clean, rebuild, and service field equipment to maintain optimal performance and presentation.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and replace or restore worn or expired components.
• Conduct equipment testing, tagging, upgrades, and commissioning activities as required.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical faults on TOMRA equipment.
• Support Field Service Technicians with corrective maintenance and repair activities.
• Complete detailed service reports, including faults identified, repairs completed, testing, and parts replaced.
• Manage inventory, consumables, and spare parts, ensuring accurate stock control and replenishment.
• Maintain accurate records using company software, ERP, and inventory management systems.
• Participate in stocktakes and work closely with Supply Chain to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Travel as required, including extended driving and occasional after-hours callouts.
• Deliver excellent customer service to customers, partners, and members of the public.
• Follow all TOMRA safety standards, report hazards and incidents promptly, and comply with company policies and lawful instructions.
