Job summary

Lake Illawarra South Public Preschool is hiring a School Learning Support Officer (Preschool) to assist students with diverse learning needs under the supervision of a teacher. The role includes welfare, health and wellbeing activities, and support for the daily preschool program.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday during school terms, with hours from 8:15 am to 3:00 pm. Applicants should include ACECQA-certified qualifications and evidence of WWCC; the preschool opens in 2027 subject

Qualifications

• ACECQA Certificate III in Children’s Services or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved).
• Working with Children Check Clearance required.
• Mandatory training as required by the Department of Education including first aid.
• Administration of medications training provided.
• Health support training provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under teacher direction.
• Assist with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities.
• Carry out duties for preschool program support, daily maintenance of resources, stocktake and meal-time activities.
