Job summary

The EQ Hotel Pty Ltd in Perth is seeking reliable Handypersons and Maintenance Technicians to join our pre-opening Engineering team. You will help ensure guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will resolve maintenance issues promptly, support pre‑opening readiness and coordinate access with contractors while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• General repairs and maintenance experience.
• Experience with painting, patching, carpentry and plumbing is valued.
• Ability to work independently and safely within a hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
• Carry out general repairs including basic carpentry, painting, patching and minor plumbing.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Record completed works and follow‑up actions in the maintenance system.
• Coordinate with contractors and service providers as needed.
• Assist with pre‑opening inspections and readiness tasks.
