Job summary

Snowy River Caravans Wangaratta is seeking a hands-on Pre-Delivery Service Technician to ensure every caravan leaves road-ready, compliant and finished to the highest standard.

You will perform PDIs, assist the service team with minor repairs, and ensure flawless presentation before handover. A well-equipped workshop and a supportive team environment are provided.

• Hands-on trade or service-based experience in caravans/RVs or similar.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving.
• High attention to detail and pride in doing it right first time.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on new caravans, testing lights, appliances, gas systems, plumbing, cabinetry and overall functionality.
• Assist the service team with minor repairs, adjustments and maintenance as required.
• Ensure caravans are clean, compliant, fully operational and presented to a premium standard before handover.
• Collaborate with sales and service teams to report, rectify and resolve issues prior to delivery.

About the Role

As a Pre-Delivery Service Technician, you are the final and most important checkpoint before our customers head off on their adventures. You’ll ensure every caravan leaves our yard road-ready, compliant, and finished to the highest standard.

You’ll work through detailed PDIs, support the service department, and take ownership of the presentation and functionality of every van you sign off on.

You’ll be working in a well-equipped workshop with vehicle hoists and quality tooling, no crawling around on the ground. We invest in the right equipment so you can work safely, efficiently, and professionally every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) Work through comprehensive checklists on new caravans prior to delivery, testing lights, appliances, gas systems, plumbing, cabinetry, seals and overall functionality.

Servicing & Repairs Assist the service team with minor repairs, adjustments and maintenance as required.

Quality Control & Presentation Ensure every caravan is clean, compliant, fully operational and presented at a premium standard before customer handover.

Team Communication Work closely with the sales and service departments to report, rectify and resolve any issues prior to delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a hands‑on trade, mechanical or service‑based role (caravans, RVs, trailers, automotive or similar)

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability

• High attention to detail, someone who takes pride in getting it right the first time

• Excellent time management and reliability

• A positive team attitude

Highly Regarded (But Not Essential)

• Previous caravan, RV or automotive industry experience

• Basic understanding of 12V electrical systems, plumbing or gas systems

• Trade background in mechanical, fitting, or carpentry
