Snowy River Caravans is one of Australia's leading caravan brands, known for quality, innovation and customer satisfaction. As our Toowoomba operation continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced, hands-on all-rounder to join our team.
We're interested in people who know their way around tools, understand how things work and aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves to get a job done properly.
You might be a qualified mechanic, fabricator, auto electrician, carpenter or another experienced tradesperson looking for a change. You may have spent years working across different trades and developed a broad skill set through practical experience. Either way, if you're a capable problem-solver who takes pride in their work, we'd like to hear from you.
Caravan experience is an advantage, but it's not essential. We're more interested in your experience, practical ability and what you can bring to the team.
Working from our brand-new, purpose-built workshop, you'll carry out servicing, repairs, modifications, installations and warranty work across a range of caravans and motorhomes.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two jobs are necessarily the same. You'll have the opportunity to use your existing trade skills, learn new ones and work across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fabrication and general fit-out tasks.
Your responsibilities may include:
Caravan and motorhome servicing, maintenance and repairs
Mechanical fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting
12V electrical repairs, wiring and accessory installations
Solar, battery and inverter installations
Water system and plumbing repairs
Fabrication, modifications and general fit-out work
Installation of accessories, upgrades and customer-requested modifications
Warranty and insurance repairs
Pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and quality control
General workshop duties and supporting the wider service team
We're looking for someone who can approach a job logically, work through problems and deliver a quality result without needing every task spelled out.
We're keen to hear from experienced tradespeople and skilled all-rounders from a range of industries, including:
Automotive mechanics and diesel mechanics
Auto electricians and electricians with relevant practical experience
Metal fabricators, welders and boilermakers
Carpenters, cabinetmakers and joiners
Marine technicians and boat builders
RV, caravan and motorhome technicians
Trailer builders and repairers
Plumbers and maintenance technicians
Other tradespeople with a broad range of hands-on skills
You don't need to tick every box. We're particularly interested in candidates who have developed skills across multiple areas and can confidently turn their hand to different tasks.
Solid practical experience in a trade, workshop or hands-on technical role
A broad skill set and confidence using tools and workshop equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and an ability to diagnose and solve problems
The ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship
A practical, can-do attitude and willingness to learn new systems
The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
A current driver's licence
Australian work rights
Relevant trade qualifications are highly regarded, but demonstrated experience and practical ability are equally important.
Competitive pay of $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience and capability
Full-time, stable employment
A brand-new, purpose-built workshop
Some tooling supplied
A varied role that makes use of your existing skills
The opportunity to expand your skill set across multiple trades
Ongoing training and development
A supportive team environment
Long-term career opportunities with a growing Australian caravan brand
If you've spent years working in a trade and are looking for something different, this is an opportunity to put your skills to use in a growing industry without being confined to the same repetitive jobs every day.
You'll work on a variety of equipment, solve practical problems, carry out repairs and modifications, and develop new skills along the way.
We value people who take initiative, think for themselves and care about the quality of their work. We want someone who can bring experience to the team, contribute ideas and help us maintain the high standards our customers expect.
Previous caravan experience isn't required for the right candidate. Practical skills, experience and a willingness to get stuck in are what count.
