Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience compiling tenders, cost models, programs, and methodologies in construction, civil, or commercial sectors.

Responsibilities

• Own tenders from pricing and scheduling through to closing.
• Lead pre-tender strategy and advise on projects to target or avoid.
• Ensure smooth handover of awarded projects to site teams and meet client promises on the ground.
• Leverage Queensland networks to open doors with new clients and co-create market campaigns.
• Support delivery when quotes are steady, assisting project teams and resolving site challenges.
• Build and maintain streamlined tender systems and manage pre-contracts staff, including offshore members.

What Your Week Looks Like

• Estimating & Bid Management: Own tenders from first-principles pricing, methodology, and scheduling through to closing.

• Pre-Tender Strategy: Run pre-tender review meetings with leadership, advising which projects to target, negotiate, or avoid.

• Seamless Project Handover: Transition awarded jobs cleanly to site teams, managing expectations and ensuring client promises are met on the ground.

• Business Development: Leverage your Queensland network, open doors with new tier-level clients, and co-design capability statements and market campaigns.

• Delivery & Operational Gap-Filling: When quoting volume is steady, you don’t sit idle—you assist project teams, deliver small works packages, and resolve site challenges.

• Systems & Team Building: Implement streamlined systems, maintain a tidy live tender register, and manage pre-contracts support staff (including offshore team members, with potential international travel).

• Client & BD Skills: Existing connections across Queensland, confident face-to-face communication, and professional representation at client meetings and industry events.
