Qualifications

• Current registration with ANMAC as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated experience in a general practice setting.
• Knowledge of immunisation administration and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including wound management and infection control.
• Administer vaccinations and immunisations per national schedules.
• Take vital signs and record clinical observations.
• Assist GPs with clinical procedures and examinations.
• Conduct health screenings and preventive health assessments for patients of all ages.
• Educate patients on health promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management.
• Manage patient flow and clinic operations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.

About the role

This reputable Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our team in Werribee, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our general practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will be at the forefront of patient interactions, providing essential nursing care, health education, and clinical support to patients across a diverse range of ages and health conditions. This position is integral to the smooth functioning of our medical centre and directly contributes to improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Providing direct patient care including wound management, dressing changes, and infection control protocols
• Administering vaccinations and immunisations in accordance with national immunisation schedules both at the clinic and nursing homes .
• Taking patient vital signs and recording comprehensive clinical observations
• Assisting general practitioners with clinical procedures and examinations
• Conducting health screenings and preventive health assessments for patients of all ages
• Providing patient education on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management
• Managing patient flow and ensuring efficient clinic operations
• Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and documentation
• Ensuring compliance with infection control, health and safety regulations, and privacy legislation
• Supporting the delivery of care plans and follow-up procedures

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse
• Current National Police check and Working with children certificate .
• Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Experience with IV cannulation to assist with iron infusions
• Demonstrated experience working in a general practice .
• Strong clinical knowledge and competency in routine nursing procedures and immunisation administration
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
• Ability to multitask and prioritise workload in a busy clinical environment
• Knowledge of current health and safety regulations, infection control standards, and patient privacy requirements
• A caring, patient-centred approach with a commitment to quality healthcare delivery
• Team collaboration skills and the ability to work cooperatively with general practitioners and administrative staff
• Proficiency with medical practice management software(Best Practice) and electronic health records systems
