Job summary

Health Partners in Mt Barker is seeking a Practice Manager to lead a combined dental and optical team, overseeing day-to-day operations and delivering a seamless, high-quality patient experience. You’ll foster a supportive, high-performing culture and coordinate rostering, workflows and service delivery.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll build genuine patient relationships, manage escalations, and monitor performance with data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and coaching a team in healthcare, retail or customer-facing environments.
• Strong organisational skills to juggle priorities and keep operations running smoothly.
• Passion for delivering exceptional patient and customer experiences.
• Confident communicator capable of managing escalations and building relationships.
• Experience in dental/optical settings is highly regarded but not essential if leadership and operations are strong.

About The Role

As Practice Manager, you'll lead a combined dental and optical team at our Mt Barker practice, overseeing the day-to-day running of both services to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for every patient who walks through the door.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team across both dental and optical functions, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
• Oversee daily operations, rostering and workflow to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery across both areas.
• Champion an exceptional patient and customer experience, acting as an escalation point for complex enquiries or complaints.
• Monitor performance against targets and business goals, using data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with clinical, safety and administrative policies and procedures across both dental and optical operations.

About You

You’re a confident, hands‑on leader who genuinely enjoys the buzz of a busy practice, and you know how to bring a team together to deliver great outcomes for the people walking through the door.

• Proven experience leading and coaching a team, ideally within a healthcare, retail or customer‑facing environment.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and keep daily operations running smoothly.
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient and customer experiences.
• Confident communicator, comfortable managing escalations and building relationships across a diverse team.
• Experience in dental and/or optical settings is highly regarded, but not essential if you bring strong leadership and operational skills.
