Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria—Youth Justice Precincts—seeks a senior leader to oversee psychosocial program delivery and behaviour rehabilitation for young people in custody. The role coordinates interventions with custody and community teams, driving evidence-based practices and staff development.

The Practice Lead will supervise a team of Behaviour Support Specialists, develop individualized intervention plans, and provide strategic guidance on complex cases.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver interventions and services to complex client groups.
• Specialist expertise in working with young people presenting with multiple and complex needs, including offending behaviour, trauma, substance use and mental health issues.
• Competence in delivering practice supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of staff delivering psychosocial programs and individual interventions to support the management of a young person's behaviour in custody and reintegration into the community.
• Oversee the delivery of evidence-based psychosocial programs to support rehabilitation and reduce behaviours of concern.
• Provide high quality supervision and access to professional development, developing and maintaining a culture that supports best practice.
• Develop individualised strategies and plans responsive to the needs of young people in custody.
• Contribute to strategic advice and coordinate care between custody, community and external stakeholders.
