Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you will partner with senior leaders to translate strategy into architecture plans, shape AI adoption, and steer major investments while guiding a high‑performing architecture practice.

As a Practice Head, Enterprise Architect - Retail Technology, you'll be responsible for defining and driving the architectural vision, strategy and roadmap across IAG's Retail technology ecosystem, spanning leading brands including NRMA, AMI and State. You'll shape the platforms that underpin customer acquisition, servicing, retention, pricing, policy and claims experiences across digital, assisted and emerging channels. You'll connect business strategy with technology strategy, influencing major investment decisions and the long-term evolution of Retail technology. Beyond setting architecture direction, you'll play a key role in evolving IAG's architecture practice, identifying how AI and emerging technologies can be harnessed to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes while balancing governance, risk and regulatory obligations. This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).

What You'll Do

• Define and own the architectural vision, strategy and roadmap for IAG's Retail technology ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business priorities and long-term growth objectives.
• Partner with senior business and technology leaders to translate strategic objectives into clear architecture outcomes, investment priorities and technology roadmaps.
• Shape how AI and emerging technologies are adopted across the Retail domain, establishing practical architecture approaches, guardrails and patterns that enable innovation at scale.
• Influence architecture standards and practices across the broader Enterprise Architecture community, helping evolve modern architecture capabilities across IAG.
• Provide strategic leadership across the Retail pillar, leading a team of architects and fostering a high-performing architecture practice.

What You'll Bring

• Strong technical leadership in AI adoption, with experience translating innovation into practical enterprise outcomes.
• Experience shaping enterprise technology direction, with the ability to define future-state architectures, identify emerging opportunities and guide strategic investment decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to connect business strategy, customer outcomes and technology strategy, translating complex challenges into clear architectural direction.
• The ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders while maintaining credibility with architects, engineers and technology leaders.
