Job summary

Paxus is seeking a Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports and data visualisations to support business decisions in Melbourne.

The role involves translating requirements into BI solutions, building semantic models using DAX and Power Query, and integrating data from multiple sources including databases, APIs and Excel.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years' experience in Power BI development, BI, data analytics, or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
• Solid SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and validation.

Responsibilities

Our client is looking for Power BI Developer who can design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualisations to support business and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate business requirements and reporting needs into effective Power BI solutions and data models
• Develop and optimise semantic models using Power BI, DAX, and Power Query
• Integrate data from multiple sources including databases, APIs, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud-based platforms
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to define reporting requirements and KPIs
• Contribute to reporting standards, reusable components, documentation, and continuous improvement of BI practices

What you'll bring:

• 3-5+ years' experience in Power BI development, Business Intelligence, data analytics, or similar roles
• Strong hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI
• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query and data modelling
• Solid SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and validation
• Experience with Power BI Service including workspaces, scheduled refreshes, gateways, access management, and deployment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services such as Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks is desirable
