Job summary

Perigon Group is partnering with a Brisbane-based organisation to hire a Power BI Developer on a short-term contract focused on enhancing existing reporting and dashboard solutions. The role emphasizes presentation, usability, and stakeholder value over back-end data engineering.

You will work closely with Finance and the Data team to refine financial and operational reporting, transform data into clear visuals, and improve dashboard design, navigation, and user experience.

Qualifications

We are currently partnering with a Brisbane-based organisation seeking a Power BI Developer for a short-term contract focused on enhancing existing reporting and dashboard solutions. Rather than building new data pipelines, this role is centred on improving the presentation, usability, and impact of existing Power BI reports and dashboards. Working closely with Finance and an established Data team, you'll help refine financial and operational reporting to deliver clearer insights and better business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and improve existing Power BI dashboards and reports
• Refine financial reporting outputs to improve clarity, usability, and stakeholder engagement
• Transform existing datasets into intuitive and visually effective reporting solutions
• Improve dashboard design, layout, navigation, and user experience
• Work closely with Finance stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and presentation needs
• Collaborate with the Data team to ensure reporting aligns with existing governance, security, and reporting standards
• Identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and standardise reporting outputs
• Support the ongoing optimisation of operational and financial reporting capabilities

Experience Required

• Strong experience developing and enhancing Power BI reports and dashboards
• Demonstrated ability to improve data visualisation, dashboard design, and reporting presentation
• Experience working with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective visual outputs
• Strong understanding of Power BI functionality, including DAX, data modelling, and report development
• Experience manipulating and presenting existing data rather than building complex data pipelines
• Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Previous experience supporting Finance teams or working within financial reporting environments
