Job summary

Cummins is seeking an entry-level Power Generation Field Service Technician (Level I) in Sydney, Australia. You will support with basic repairs and preventative maintenance on all power generation systems at customer sites, under supervision, and undergo Cummins courses and on-the-job training.

You will engage with customers, use specialised tools, prepare parts, document work, and escalate complex issues to senior technicians. A focus on safety and continuous learning is essential.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Power Generation/Electrical Technician (Preferred).
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
• Locally valid driving permit.

Responsibilities

• Use specialised tools and follow documented procedures to diagnose faults and complete basic repairs.
• Prepare required parts, tools, and equipment before commencing repairs.
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to senior Field Service Technicians or Supervisors.

• Complete service documentation, timesheets, and warranty claims accurately through forms or business systems.
• Complete required training to maintain skills and meet business needs.
• Maintain service vehicles and tools to ensure cleanliness and safe operation.
• Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.

Power Generation Field Service Technician - Level I

Under direct or close supervision, provides assistance with basic repairs and preventative maintenance on all power generation systems, parts, and components at customer sites. Will undergo on-the-job training and relevant Cummins-based courses. Adheres to established procedures and guidelines to enhance service workshop knowledge and skills. Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Generator or component at the customer site with minimal direction.
