Job summary

APA Group is seeking an Engineering Manager – Power in Perth, WA to lead engineering activities across a diverse portfolio of power projects and provide technical guidance to teams and stakeholders.

You will mentor colleagues, ensure compliance with standards and support the growth of others within a collaborative environment. Eligible for CPEng within 12 months, with a focus on delivering reliable energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering with eligibility for Engineers Australia or equivalent.
• Experience in gas-fired power generation projects, ideally in an Owners’ Engineer, EPC or infrastructure delivery environment.
• Sound technical judgement and ability to balance risk, cost, performance and timelines.
• Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities across complex infrastructure or energy projects.
• Knowledge of Australian and international standards, plus environmental, health and safety legislation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement, with ability to work across technical, operational and commercial teams; CPEng/RPEQ eligibility within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead early-stage project development activities, including opportunity assessments and concept development for power projects.
• Provide engineering leadership through FEED to detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
• Guide technical aspects of supply, construction agreements and vendor evaluations.
• Coordinate with consultants, OE, OEMs and contractors across complex projects.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation—specifications, datasheets, reports, drawings.
• Support business cases, risk assessments and decision-making with technical insights.
