• WHS and operational compliance knowledge.
• Experience with budgets and capital projects (OPEX/CAPEX).

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations and support reliable production.

Powder Coating Operation Manager | Perth Based | Relocation Support

Own the site. Keep operations moving. Build it from day one.

We are developing a new powder coating facility in Welshpool, Perth, as part of a growing industrial business.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of site operations, plant reliability, maintenance, contractors, logistics, compliance, site improvements and operational costs.

This is a hands‑on role where you will work closely with the Production Manager and leadership team to help establish the facility, keep operations running efficiently and make sure site issues are followed through properly.

Based in Perth, Western Australia. Relocation support is available for the right interstate candidate.

What You'll Do
Site Operations & Plant Reliability

• Oversee day-to-day site operations and support reliable production

• Develop and manage planned and reactive maintenance across the site

• Coordinate servicing and maintenance of powder coating ovens, booths, extraction, ventilation, compressed air, utilities and supporting equipment

• Respond to breakdowns, hazards and operational issues

• Maintain asset, maintenance and service records

• Work closely with the Production Manager to minimise downtime and keep critical equipment available

Safety, Compliance & Site Standards

• Maintain a safe, clean and serviceable workplace

• Support WHS, environmental and emergency requirements

• Coordinate contractors, site inspections, permits and corrective actions

• Keep operational and facility documentation up to date

• Ensure site issues are followed through to completion

Costs, Projects & Improvements

• Manage operational, maintenance and facility costs

• Coordinate work orders, purchase orders and approvals

• Track supplier, maintenance and project expenditure

• Support OPEX and CAPEX planning and reporting

• Coordinate facility upgrades and small capital projects

• Identify practical improvements to reliability, safety, cost and efficiency

Transport & Logistics

• Coordinate site transport and logistics requirements

• Work with production and support teams to manage the movement of materials, equipment and finished products

• Improve logistics flow and reduce operational delays

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years' experience in operations, facilities, maintenance, plant, engineering or site management within a manufacturing or industrial environment

• Strong understanding of industrial operations, maintenance and plant reliability

• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and service providers

• Good understanding of WHS and operational compliance

• Experience with budgets, purchasing, OPEX/CAPEX or capital projects

• Strong organisational skills and follow-through

• A practical, hands‑on approach

• Confidence working both on the workshop floor and in an office environment

• Experience in powder coating, industrial painting, metal finishing or similar operations would be an advantage

• Relevant trade, engineering, operations or technical qualifications are advantageous

Highly regarded: Experience setting up, commissioning or establishing a powder coating facility, industrial plant or similar manufacturing site.
