Job summary

Responsibilities

• Oversee all poultry farm operations including feeding, egg collection and environmental controls.
• Lead, train and supervise staff to maintain safety and high standards.
• Set daily priorities and monitor team performance for accountability.
• Ensure health, welfare and humane treatment of birds.
• Monitor flock performance and take corrective actions.
• Oversee maintenance of sheds, equipment and machinery.
• Manage feed, medications and stock levels; coordinate suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and WHS standards.
• Assist in budgeting and controlling operational costs; meet KPIs.

APG Workforce are currently seeking a 2 or 3IC Farm Manager to join a well-known company supplying quality fresh eggs to the retail marketplace, based in Bargo, NSW.

We are looking for a proven leader with strong livestock/poultry/egg industry experience or transferable skills from hands‑on agriculture.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage both people and production to ensure smooth farm operations.

Local applicants only - overseas applications will not be considered. An on‑site visit to view farm operations is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of poultry farm operations including feeding, watering, egg collection, and environmental controls (temperature, ventilation, lighting).
• Lead, train, and supervise farm staff to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
• Provide clear direction, set daily priorities, and monitor team performance, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure the health, welfare, and humane treatment of all birds in line with strict animal welfare standards.
• Monitor and report on flock performance including health, egg production rates, bird weights, and mortality, and take corrective actions where needed.
• Oversee maintenance of farm sheds, equipment, and machinery, coordinating repairs and servicing.
• Manage stock levels for feed, medications, and farm supplies, including ordering and supplier coordination.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS, and quality standards at all times.
• Assist in preparing and managing farm budgets, controlling operational costs, and ensuring KPIs are achieved.

What We're Looking For:

• Demonstrated experience in poultry, egg production, or livestock farm management.
• Proven people management skills, with the ability to lead, coach, and build effective teams.
• Strong background in food safety, compliance, and operational oversight.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a manual, hands-on environment.
• Forklift/tractor licence and MR/HR licence preferred; ChemCert certification highly regarded.
• Full Australian work rights are essential.
