Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria is seeking an Assistant Manager, Community Operations within the Post Sentence Branch to oversee the day-to-day operations and supervise staff. This fixed-term, full-time 18-month backfill role supports the management of offenders under supervision orders and requires overseeing service functions in line with legislation and procedures.

Qualifications

Proven ability to work within a highly complex service delivery area.
Demonstrated capacity to understand and apply legislation, procedures, guidelines and policies to decision making.
Demonstrated understanding of and/or experience in best practice case management to proactively manage the risk of complex individuals.

Responsibilities

Oversee operational service functions for the Post Sentence Branch and ensure these functions are consistent with the relevant legislation and associated operating procedures.
Provide strategic and authoritative advice to senior management and the Secretary in the provision of high level reports, briefings, memos, recommendations and ministerial correspondence.
Give evidence in Court in respect of eligible offenders, including those subject to Detention and Supervision Orders.
