Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria, is seeking an Assistant Manager, Community Operations to oversee the Post Sentence Branch's day-to-day operations in line with legislative requirements.

You will lead a small team, manage offender supervision functions, and provide strategic reports to senior management while supporting ministerial correspondence, focusing on risk management and compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to navigate a highly complex service delivery area and apply legislation, procedures, guidelines, and policies to decision making.
• Experience with best practice case management to proactively manage risk of complex individuals.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills for high level briefings and ministerial correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor operational service functions for the Post Sentence Branch and ensure these functions are consistent with the relevant legislation and operating procedures.
• Provide strategic and authoritative advice to senior management and the Secretary in the provision of high level reports, briefings, memos, recommendations and ministerial correspondence.
• Give evidence in Court in respect of eligible offenders, including those subject to Detention and Supervision Orders.
