Job summary

Victorian Government Department of Justice and Community Safety seeks an Assistant Manager, Community Operations to deliver the day-to-day operations of the Post Sentence Branch. This fixed-term, full-time opportunity (18 months, Parental Leave backfill) offers VPS Grade 5 salary between $116,413 and $140,849 plus superannuation.

The role involves managing offender supervision functions, providing strategic advice to senior management, and presenting evidence in court for eligible offenders

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work within a highly complex service delivery area, preferably in relation to individuals with multiple and complex needs and/or within a legislative framework.
• Demonstrated capacity to understand and apply legislation, procedures, guidelines and policies to decision making.
• Demonstrated understanding of and/or experience in best practice case management to proactively manage the risk of complex individuals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the day-to-day operations of the Post Sentence Branch.
• Provide strategic and authoritative advice to senior management and the Secretary in the provision of high level reports, briefings, memos, recommendations and ministerial correspondence.
• Give evidence in Court in respect of eligible offenders, including those subject to Detention and Supervision Orders.
