Ecological Australia is seeking a motivated Post Approvals Ecologist and Project Manager to join the Greater Western Sydney team. The role combines fieldwork, technical reporting, and leadership to grow the post-approvals offering across NSW.

You will oversee ecological fieldwork, manage projects, and mentor junior staff, with opportunities to contribute to nationwide projects and client engagement. Hybrid work arrangements apply.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science / Zoology / Ecology or similar.
• At least 3 years' ecological experience.
• Strong fauna and flora knowledge with practical fauna handling preferred.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and leading ecological fieldwork.
• Working knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement.
• Organised and flexible with changing plans.
• Experience preparing technical reports; leadership and project management skills.

We are looking for someone with:

• A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science / Zoology / Ecology or similar.
• At least 3 years' ecological experience.
• Strong fauna and flora species knowledge and identification skills, with practical fauna handling experience highly regarded.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and leading ecological fieldwork.
• Working knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
• Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills, to support effective stakeholder engagement.
• An ability to be both organised and flexible with changing plans.
• Experience preparing technical reports.Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking skills.
• Project management skills and experience.
• A passion for sharing their knowledge with others.
• Current driver's licence.
