Job summary

Guild Insurance is seeking a Policy Wording Specialist to join our Product & Underwriting team in Melbourne. You’ll shape policy wordings, support product development, and collaborate with underwriting, claims, risk, compliance and legal teams across Australia.

This role values technical insurance expertise, precise drafting, and stakeholder engagement. Hybrid work options are available with locations in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong drafting and writing skills.
• Ability to interpret and simplify complex policy language.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and sound judgement.
• Confidence working with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Experience with financial lines products will be highly regarded.
• Legal qualifications or relevant legal experience will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review, update and maintain Guild's policy wordings and product documentation.
• Identify coverage gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Draft policy wording amendments, endorsements and product updates.
• Support the development of new products and wordings.
• Partner with underwriting, claims, risk, compliance, legal and business teams.
• Monitor regulatory and legislative changes impacting Guild's products.
• Support change implementation and customer communications.
• Help improve clarity and consistency of customer-facing policy documentation.

Join Guild Insurance's Product & Underwriting team and play an important role in maintaining, enhancing and developing our suite of insurance policy wordings.

Working across product, underwriting, claims, risk and compliance, you'll help ensure our products remain clear, compliant and aligned to the evolving needs of our customers, partners and regulators.

About You

We're looking for an insurance professional who enjoys analysing policy language, solving technical problems and working through complex issues with a variety of stakeholders.

You might currently be working in policy wordings, underwriting, claims, product, risk, compliance or a related legal environment.

You'll bring:
