Job summary

The Department for Child Protection (DCP) in Adelaide CBD invites applications for a Lead Project Officer to drive projects that support South Australian carers. Based in the Adelaide CBD, you’ll use research, policy development and coordination to deliver meaningful work across multiple initiatives.

You will work independently with direction as priorities shift, manage competing demands, and contribute to policy and project delivery that makes a real difference for families and carers.

Qualifications

• Experience researching and analyzing to inform policy development.
• Ability to deliver strategic and operational outcomes in a changing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication for briefings and advice.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Understanding best practice in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of projects with plans, priorities and timeframes.
• Researching and monitoring developments in child protection practice, policy and legislation.
• Preparing high-quality briefings and reports for management and executives.
• Consulting with government agencies, service partners and key stakeholders to support project outcomes.
• Contributing to policy and strategic initiatives, including legislative reform and project proposals.
