Job summary

The NSW Ministry of Health invites applications for an Assistant Policy Officer in the Centre for Alcohol and Other Drugs. This full-time ongoing role supports strategic service planning, performance monitoring and policy activities across NSW Health.

You will work with policy officers and managers to develop briefing materials, policy documents and reports, contributing to statewide initiatives that improve AOD services and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience providing administrative support for government policy, program or project work.
• Strong written communication skills for briefs, correspondence and policy materials.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality work.
• Stakeholder engagement and relationship management in a public health context.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality administrative and project support to the Systems Performance and Planning Team.
• Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes and support stakeholder engagement activities.
• Assist in developing policy documents, ministerial and parliamentary briefs, correspondence and reports.
• Contribute to projects that support evidence‑based service and workforce planning for AOD services.
• Source and analyse information relating to AOD funding, system performance and policy issues.
• Support reporting processes related to strategic priorities and performance indicators.
