Job summary

NSW Health in St Leonards is seeking an Assistant Policy Officer within the Centre for Alcohol and Other Drugs to support strategic service planning, performance monitoring and funding policy across NSW's AOD services. The role provides administrative and project support, helps develop policy briefs, and contributes to initiatives ensuring services are planned, funded and monitored to meet community needs.

Qualifications

• Experience providing administrative support for government policy, program or project work.
• Strong written communication with clear briefs and correspondence.
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail and delivery of high-quality work.
• Stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Interest in health policy, service planning or public health.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality administrative and project support to the Systems Performance and Planning Team.
• Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes and support stakeholder engagement activities.
• Assist in the development of policy documents, ministerial and parliamentary briefs, correspondence, presentations and reports.
• Contribute to projects that support evidence-based service and workforce planning for AOD services.
• Assist in sourcing and analysing information relating to AOD funding, system performance and emerging policy issues.
• Support reporting processes relating to strategic priorities and performance indicators.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the Ministry of Health, Local Health Districts and the non-government sector.
• Help maintain effective systems and processes that support complex analytical and communication activities.
