Job summary

Recruitment Sorted Pty Ltd is recruiting Policy Officers at APS5, APS6 and EL1 levels in Canberra, ACT. These roles focus on policy research, analysis and the preparation of formal advice for executive consideration.

The initial engagement is 3–6 months with the potential for extension, requiring strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the public service.

Qualifications

• Sound analytical skills and policy judgement.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• A collaborative approach to working within the team.
• Previous experience working with Commonwealth/State relations in complex policy areas or regulatory environments is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Research and analysis on priority issues (general research or economic/data analysis as appropriate).
• Development of persuasive communications materials, including written reports and data visualisation.
• Project strategy, planning and coordination.
• Stakeholder engagement across the public service to ensure advice adds value.
• Preparation of formal government and executive advice, such as Cabinet submissions and proposals for new policies and programs.
