Job summary

Cleanaway Waste Management, based in Melbourne, invites applications for a PMO Manager to lead the National Engineering & Technical PMO from Dandenong South. You will establish governance, controls and tools for a diverse landfill and infrastructure portfolio, guiding a four-person PMO team toward consistent delivery and continuous improvement.

You will drive reporting, forecasting, risk and change management across projects, partnering with engineers and leaders to embed standardized processes

Qualifications

• Significant experience in PMO leadership, portfolio governance, project controls or capital project environments.
• Proven success designing and implementing governance frameworks, workflows, templates and assurance processes.
• Strong understanding of portfolio planning, project financials, forecasting, scheduling, risk and change management.
• Demonstrated people leadership, coaching and capability development skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, including leading change across teams.
• Experience in infrastructure, construction, oil and gas or other complex, regulated environments; engineering exposure advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and embed consistent project governance frameworks, stage gates, delivery standards, templates and tools.
• Lead and coach the PMO team, building project management capability through practical training and guidance.
• Oversee portfolio schedules, priorities, resources and dependencies to support effective project planning.
• Introduce consistent project reporting, cost tracking, forecasting, risk and change control practices.
• Conduct project assurance reviews and targeted audits to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Partner with project managers, engineers, operational leaders and enabling teams to support portfolio-wide adoption.
• Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes, reporting and documentation, including opportunities for automation.
