Job summary

New Tech Logistics is seeking a Yard Tug Driver to join our team in Pemulwuy, Sydney, with a midday start. The role involves moving trailers, unloading and loading trucks, and driving a yard tug to position B-Double and Single trailers within the depot.

Local deliveries may be required to keep freighting moving. Applicants should hold a current HC/MC licence and have excellent communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Able to perform in a fast-paced environment with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers and unload/load trucks to keep freight moving.
• Drive a yard tug to move B-Double and Single trailers in and out of the depot.
• Perform local deliveries if/when required.
• Move and reverse trailers through the depot into allocated bays.
• Plan and monitor all trailer movements to align with operations schedule.
• Support smooth and efficient transport team operations.
• Carry out visual inspections and report damages to freight or equipment.

New Tech Logistics is a 24/7 refrigerated transport and warehouse business operating on the east coast of Australia with our own sites in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

We have enjoyed significant growth in recent years and are looking to recruit a Yard Tug Driver to join our strong and dedicated team in based in Pemulwuy, Sydney with be a midday start.

What you'll be doing

Move trailers, unload and load trucks and keep freight moving.

Driving a yard tug to move B-Double and Single trailers in and out of the depot.

Local deliveries if/when required.

Move and reverse trailers through the depot into allocated bays.

Plan and monitor all trailer movements to ensure adherence to the operations schedule.

Supporting smooth and efficient operations for our transport teams.

Perform visual inspections and report any damages to freight or equipment to your supervisor immediately.

Ensure that the yard equipment is positioned effectively in accordance with operational requirements.

Physical demands of the role include repetitive entry and exit of the vehicle, coupling and uncoupling trailers, and general yard duties.

What we're looking for

Current HC or MC License.

Experience with refrigerated transport desired, but not essential.

You will have an ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.

Previous experience in a similar role desired but not essential.
