Western Downs Regional Council – Jandowae QLD is seeking a Utilities role to assist the Utilities Senior Network Operator in monitoring, operating and maintaining water and wastewater networks. The role emphasizes safety, environmental compliance and delivering high-standard customer service across the Western Downs region.

Applicants should hold a Certificate III in Plumbing & Drainage, WH&S White Card, and relevant licences.

Western Downs Regional Council – Jandowae QLD

Operating from within the Utilities Department, this role will assist the Utilities Senior Network Operator to provide a range of services that support the provision of safe water and wastewater services across the Western Downs. This includes meeting statutory requirements for performance, safety and environmental management and ensuring customer service standards are achieved to a high standard. This role requires skills and knowledge necessary to monitor, operate and maintain water and wastewater network operations specialising as a plumber, drainer.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, operate and maintain water and wastewater network operations
• Support the provision of safe water and wastewater services across the Western Downs
• Meet statutory requirements for performance, safety and environmental management
• Ensure customer service standards are achieved to a high standard

About you

• Certificate III in Plumbing & Drainage
• WH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card
• Open C Class Driver's Licence
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement traffic management plans and install/remove signs and devices in accordance with procedures
• Other relevant competencies such as confined space, working at heights, trench shoring, MUTCH level 2, pipe welding or ability and willingness to learn
• Medium Rigid Class Driver's Licence or ability to attain within 12 months
• Ability to be 'fit tested' for tight fitting respirators within the first three (3) months of employment and maintain compliance with 'fit-testing' standards
