Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a trade-qualified plumber to join the Facilities Services team, delivering plumbing and drainage maintenance across Council assets in the Rockhampton region.

You will carry out planned, corrective and reactive works, installations, and statutory maintenance, with opportunities to support minor capital projects. Emphasis on safety, compliance, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified plumber with current Plumber and Drainer Licence, QBCC Licence and White Card.
• Demonstrated experience in plumbing and drainage installation, maintenance and repair across a variety of facilities and assets.
• Ability to interpret plans and specifications and contribute to the delivery of maintenance and project works.

• $46.62 per hour LGIA Stream C Building and Trade Level BT2 + Site Allowance + Tool Allowance + LHA2 + Superannuation

Your new role

Join a skilled and dedicated Facilities Services team delivering essential plumbing and drainage services across Council's diverse asset portfolio throughout the Rockhampton Region.

Reporting to the Supervisor Building and Maintenance, you will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of planned, corrective and reactive plumbing maintenance works, as well as supporting minor capital projects on Council assets. You will perform installations, statutory maintenance, repairs and drainage works while ensuring all activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, Australian Standards and Council requirements.

In this hands-on role, you will contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of maintenance and project activities, provide technical advice relating to Council assets, and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and professionally.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

• Ability to interpret plans and specifications and contribute to the delivery of maintenance and project works.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise competing demands.
• Sound computer literacy and experience using digital systems to record and manage work activities.
• Current C Class Driver Licence, with Local Government experience and certifications in working at heights, confined spaces and First Aid highly regarded
