Job summary

Ventia supports Defence infrastructure and is seeking a Plumber for Simpson Barracks. You will perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, helping to keep critical water, sewer, drainage and gas systems operating safely.

The role offers a permanent full-time position with a Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm roster, monthly RDO, and opportunities for overtime and career development within Ventia's national operations.

Qualifications

• Qualified plumber with Certificate III in Plumbing.
• Experience in maintenance, planned and reactive works.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining plumbing systems across Defence site.
• Working on water, sewer, drainage and gas systems.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs.
• Conducting planned and reactive maintenance activities.

• Water treatment testing and system adjustments.

About the Role

No two days are the same. You'll perform a combination of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a busy Defence site, helping to keep critical infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and associated infrastructure
• Working on water, sewer, drainage and gas systems
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
• Conducting planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Completing inspections, testing and compliance documentation
• Performing water treatment testing and system adjustments
• Working closely with supervisors, subcontractors and other trades
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service
• Participating in after-hours call outs when required

About You:

To be successful, you'll bring:

• Cert III in Plumbing Required (Cert IV desirable but not essential)
• Experience within a maintenance environment undertaking planned and reactive works
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
• Commitment to safety, compliance and quality workmanship
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Current driver's licence
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
• Experience working within Defence, government, industrial or large commercial environments

Important Requirements

Due to the nature of this Defence contract, applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
The successful candidate will also be required to complete a pre-employment medical and police check.
