Job summary

Platypus Shoes Salamander Bay is seeking an Assistant Manager to work with the Store Manager, driving sales, coaching the team and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will lead a passionate casual team, oversee rosters, stock and VM, and help create an energetic store culture while developing your leadership skills, delivering strong KPI results, and upholding OH&S policies and Accent Group standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as senior casual, key holder or supervisor in high-volume retail.
• Proven ability to lead a team and deliver sales/KPIs.
• Hands-on leader with a Make it Happen mindset.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
• Stock management and visual merchandising know-how.
• Passion for delivering premium customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in driving store performance to meet sales targets and standards.

About The Role

As the Assistant Manager at Platypus Shoes Salamander Bay, you'll work side-by-side with the Store Manager to support a team of passionate casual team members. Your focus will be on driving sales and KPIs, coaching the team, and delivering next-level customer service. You'll play a key role in creating an energetic store culture, while developing your leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-impact retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in driving store performance by achieving sales targets, KPIs, and maintaining visual merchandising standards
• Motivate and inspire the team to deliver outstanding results in sales and customer experience
• Monitor and analyse store sales performance daily, weekly, and monthly – celebrate wins and identify opportunities for growth
• Manage rosters and wage spend in line with company targets and operational efficiency
• Coach and mentor team members, driving high morale, ongoing training, and succession planning
• Oversee stock levels, store presentation, shrinkage control, and operational excellence
• Ensure compliance with all OH&S policies and relevant state and national legislation

Skills And Experience

• Previous experience as a senior casual, key holder, 3IC, or supervisor in a high-volume retail environment
• Proven ability to lead a team and deliver strong results in sales and KPIs
• A proactive, hands-on leader with a 'Make it Happen' mindset
• Strong communication skills and a passion for coaching others
• Operational know-how across stock management and visual merchandising
• A genuine enthusiasm for customer experience and working with premium product
