Job summary

Silicon Quantum Computing Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Platform Engineer for our Engineering Infrastructure team. This hands-on role operates HPC compute clusters, GitHub Enterprise, and Kubernetes tooling to support physicists and software engineers building quantum products.

You will shape the platform's direction as we scale, collaborating with teams across R&D to improve reliability, automate infrastructure, and accelerate research workloads.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes proficiency.
• Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, Ansible).
• CI/CD tooling experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Hands-on with HPC or compute clusters; core networking (DNS, DHCP, NTP).
• Ability to troubleshoot across multi-system environments and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate HPC compute clusters (on‑prem and cloud) for simulations.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across products and toolchains.
• Manage internal platforms and dev tooling on Kubernetes.
• Support physics and research teams in accessing compute resources.
• Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, improve reliability.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code practices to speed onboarding.
