TheDriveGroup in Sydney is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer for a 6-month contract to focus on platform reliability, cloud infrastructure, and automation. The role combines production support, infrastructure engineering, and automation with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance of cloud-based platforms.

You'll work across SRE and Platform Engineering, maintaining production environments, building IaC with Terraform, and developing automation in Python/Bash.

Qualificações

• Hands-on experience in SRE/Platform Engineering or DevOps.
• Proficient with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS).
• Strong scripting in Python and Bash.
• IaC experience, preferably Terraform.
• Familiar with CI/CD and production environments.
• Knowledge of observability and incident management.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain the reliability, availability and performance of production environments.
• Troubleshoot incidents and identify root causes with long-term fixes.
• Build and improve Infrastructure as Code to provision cloud infrastructure.
• Develop automation using Python and Bash to reduce manual processes.
• Support and optimise GCP and AWS environments for scalability and security.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes for reliable deployments.
• Implement and enhance monitoring, observability and reliability practices.

Platform Engineer | Sydney | Hybrid

6 Month Contract - opportunity for extension

Day Rate $1000 per day + GST (inclusive of super)

We're looking for a hands-on Platform Engineer to join a growing technology team, focusing on platform reliability, cloud infrastructure and automation.

This role offers a mix of production support, infrastructure engineering and automation, with a strong focus on improving the reliability, scalability and performance of cloud-based platforms.

The Role

Working across SRE and Platform Engineering, you'll be responsible for:

• Maintaining the reliability, availability and performance of production environments.
• Troubleshooting production incidents, identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes.
• Building and improving Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Developing automation using Python and Bash to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency.
• Supporting and optimising GCP environments, ensuring scalability, security and performance.
• Improving CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes to support efficient application deployments.
• Implementing and enhancing monitoring, observability and reliability practices.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to introduce new infrastructure components into production and ensure they're supported operationally.

What We're Looking For

• Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering or DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Or AWS.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and Bash.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure and production environments.
• Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring and incident management.
• An automation-first mindset, with a focus on improving reliability and reducing manual intervention.
• Exposure to AI-driven automation or AI agents would be advantageous.
