City of Whittlesea is seeking a Plant Operator in the Urban Maintenance team to deliver asphalt pothole repairs, patching and related duties. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient depot operations, maintaining plant and equipment daily, and complying with OH&S and council policies.

The role is full-time, fixed-term until January 2027, with flexible hybrid work arrangements and a focus on wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification and/or several years' experience in a similar role.
• Valid MR or HR endorsement on driver's licence.
• Backhoe competency ticket or equivalent experience.

Responsabilités

• Manage asphalt pothole repairs and dip regulations to standards.
• Assist with urban maintenance activities and depot operations in a cost-effective, safe manner.
• Perform daily maintenance of allocated plant and equipment: cleaning, fueling, oiling and greasing.
• Strict adherence to OH&S legislation, requirements and Council policies.

The part you will play

As part of the Urban Maintenance Team, you will work closely with the internal stakeholders/Community. Working on: Managing an effective service delivery of asphalt pothole repairs, asphalt dip regulations, asphalt trip hazards in the footpaths including the collection of dumped rubbish all consistent with the department’s business needs to a level commensurate with current industry benchmarks To assist with any of the urban maintenance activities associated within the council’s depot operations in a cost effective, safe manner within set quality standards Daily maintenance of all allocated plant and equipment, in a clean and serviceable condition, including, daily cleaning, filling with fuel, oil and daily greasing. Strict adherence to OH&S legislation, requirements and Council policies.
