Job summary

The Shire of Esperance is seeking a motivated Roller Operator to join the Rural Construction team. You will operate rollers and other plant to support road construction and maintenance across remote locations in the Esperance region.

Key requirements include a HR class driver's license, hands-on experience with plant such as roller, loader, backhoe, and a demonstrated ability to work in a team with limited supervision. Prevailing WHS knowledge is essential.

• HR class driver's licence is essential.
• Experience operating and maintaining plant including roller, loader, backhoe and trucks.
• Experience in road construction/earthmoving and ability to perform routine maintenance.
• Ability to work in a team with limited supervision and in remote locations.
• Physical fitness and knowledge of WHS requirements.

About the Job

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Roller Operator tojoin the Shire of Esperance Rural Construction team. This positionassists with the construction and maintenance of Shire roads; itinvolves working in remote locations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Undertake plant operator duties, predominantly roller butalso including truck, loader, backhoe, dozer, grader asrequired, and in accordance with the licences held.
• Labouring tasks including traffic management, installationof signs, guide posts, etc.
• Minor maintenance on machinery.

This is a full time position working 99 hours per fortnight.

About you

In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you musthave:

• 'HR' class driver's license.
• Demonstrated experience and skills in operation and maintenance of plant including roller, loader, backhoe, truck etc.
• Demonstrated experience and skills in road construction and maintenance or earthmoving environment.
• Ability to perform routine mechanical maintenance on vehicular plant.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and with limited supervision.
• Physical fitness to undertake the inherent requirements of the job.
• Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
• Ability and willingness to work in remote locations.

Benefits

Salary:$109,938.59 per annum (including overtime), plus superannuation.
