Job summary

Mort & Co is a leading Australian beef cattle feeding, management and marketing company with a strong regional presence. The role involves operating and maintaining farm machinery, contributing to feedmill tasks, and upholding safety and quality standards across day-to-day production.

You will hold a Certificate II qualification or equivalent hands-on experience, and a current C-class driver’s licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment including Bobcats, scrapers, loaders and other plant machinery.
• Assist with feedmill activities, pads and pens management.
• Uphold safety standards, keep accurate records and ensure machine hygiene.
• Follow health and safety policies and report incidents or hazards promptly.

ABOUT YOU

• A High Risk Work Licence for forklift operation will be highly regarded.
• You will hold a Certificate II qualification or have equivalent hands-on experience relevant to the role.
• Previous experience working with machinery, plant operations, feedmill activities, pads and pens will be valuable.
• Experience with bunk sweep operation is desirable.
• You will be confident operating a range of equipment and systems, including:
  • Bobcats, scrapers, loaders, side tippers and water trucks
  • Machinery hygiene processes
  • Plant and equipment controls and operating systems
• You will also have effective verbal communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others to meet the requirements of day-to-day operations.
• You will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality assurance, accurate record keeping and safe work practices.
• We are looking for someone who lives our Values and contributes positively to the workplace culture.
• You will be expected to take reasonable care for your own health and safety, follow reasonable directions, policies and procedures, and report incidents and hazards promptly.
• A current 'C' class driver's licence is required for this role.
• The successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment health assessment.
