Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a Plant Operator to efficiently operate plant and equipment for vegetation control in the Charlton area. The role involves safe operation and maintenance of machinery and occasional supervision of casual teams during peak periods.

The position is permanent full-time at the Charlton depot, with requirements including a White Card, MR licence, and training in spraying and road-work proximity. A criminal history check and pre-employment medical may apply.

Qualifications

• WHS Competency (WhiteCard) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in construction, or equivalent, prior to commencement.
• Current MR Driver’s Licence, or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• ACDC Spraying certificate is highly desirable.
• Working in Proximity to Traffic (Part 1 and 2), or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of machinery with different power capacities.
• Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
• Leadership and Teamwork Skills.
• Ability to perform physical laboring tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and equipment to control vegetation within Open Space areas.
• Safely operate and maintain various machinery.
• Provide occasional supervision to casual work teams during peak periods.
