Job summary

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking a proactive Plant Operator/Labourer to join the Water Supply and Sewerage Operations team. You’ll operate plant and machinery, including a backhoe, and perform general labouring duties to maintain vital community infrastructure.

The role offers a permanent full-time position on the Capricorn Coast with a strong safety culture and opportunities to contribute to local projects that benefit residents and the environment.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to safely operate earthmoving equipment, including a backhoe (RII qualifications or equivalent evidence of competency).
• A current Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
• A valid MR class driver’s licence (higher class licence is desirable).

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and machinery, particularly backhoes, on water and sewerage projects.
• Undertake general labouring duties such as concreting and pipelaying.
• Contribute to the reliability, safety and presentation of community infrastructure.
