Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Plant Operator and Labourer for a night shift at a modern sand plant in Bacchus Marsh, Australia. The role requires safe operation of heavy mobile plant and fixed processing equipment, with cross-training across both areas.

Training starts on day shift at 4:00 PM–2:00 AM, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed. Pay begins at 43.11 AUD/hour during day shift, rising to 56.04 AUD/hour on the night shift; pre-employment checks and on-site onboarding are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Valid tickets for heavy plant operations (Front End Loader, Haul Truck, Watercart) are required.
• Current MR or HR Driver Licence is essential.
• Experience in quarrying, mining, sand processing, or heavy civil earthmoving is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy mobile plant including Front End Loader, Haul Trucks, and Watercarts.
• Monitor and operate the fixed sand washing/processing plant.
• Perform pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and site housekeeping.

Job Description

About the Role Randstad is looking for an experienced Plant Operator and Labourer- night shift to join a highly organised, safety-first crew at a modern sand plant in Bacchus Marsh, with comprehensive cross-training across both heavy mobile plant and fixed processing equipment.

Roster: Monday - Friday, 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM (Occasional overtime)

Training: Must be available on Day Shift for the first month to complete site onboarding and equipment sign-offs

Pay: $43.11/hr during initial day shift training, increasing to $56.04/hr on night shift

Key Responsibilities

• Safe operation of heavy mobile plant: Front End Loaders, Articulated Haul Trucks (Moxy), and Watercarts
• Operating and monitoring the fixed sand washing and processing plant
• Conducting plant inspections, routine preventative maintenance, and site housekeeping (washdowns and hosing)
• Completing daily pre-start checks and logbooks
• Actively participating in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives
