Job summary

Allstone Quarries (ASQ) in Victoria's Newbridge site is seeking a full-time Plant Operator to run fixed and mobile quarry plants. You will join a safety-focused team and develop skills in crushing, screening and material handling.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the role requires experience operating excavator, dump truck, loader or dozer, a valid manual license, and a commitment to safety. Weekend work and medicals may apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and mobile plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor crushing, screening and conveying systems.
• Conduct routine pre-start inspections and basic maintenance.
• Load and transport quarry materials with licensed mobile equipment.
• Identify and report faults, hazards and maintenance needs.
• Complete production and safety documentation accurately.
• Assist with plant shutdowns, clean-ups and maintenance activities.
• Follow site safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel and fellow operators.

Company Overview

ASQ is a locally owned, family-operated business, which has been servicing Central Victoria since 1970. The business consists of three divisions: ASQ Allstone Quarries, ASQ Premix Concrete and ASQ Garden & Landscape. This diversity enables ASQ to provide products, expertise and solutions for a wide range of domestic, commercial and industrial projects, both locally and throughout Victoria.

Our quarry produces and supplies quality crushed rock and aggregate materials to Bendigo and the surrounding district. We maintain large stockpiles of our products and our sales team provide a fast and safe turnaround. We also offer a mobile crushing operation in addition to the fixed plant, which is located at Newbridge.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for full-time Plant Operators to join us and operate fixed and mobile quarry plants at our ASQ Newbridge site. You will be a team player and eager to learn and further develop your skillset and have a safety focus and positive attitude.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the Plant Operator’s responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Operate fixed and mobile plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor crushing, screening and conveying systems.
• Conduct routine pre-start inspections and basic maintenance activities.
• Load and transport quarry materials using mobile equipment where licensed.
• Identify and report equipment faults, hazards and maintenance requirements.
• Complete production and safety documentation accurately.
• Assist with plant shutdowns, clean-ups and maintenance activities.
• Follow site safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel and fellow operators.

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience in operating an excavator, dump truck, loader and/or dozer
• Knowledge and understanding of quarry, construction or mining industries
• Must hold Work Safely or Industry Induction Card
• Must hold a valid manual driver's license
• Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required
• Must be safety-conscious and committed to safe work practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a courteous and polite manner.
• Positive and confident customer interaction and strong work ethics
