Job summary

ASQ Group in Newbridge is seeking a Plant Operator to run fixed and mobile quarry plants at our Newbridge site. You will be part of a safety-focused team, delivering efficient production and supporting maintenance activities.

The role requires experience with excavators, dump trucks, loaders or dozers, a valid manual license and a Work Safely/Induction Card. Some weekends and public holidays may be required. Medicals and drug/alcohol screening apply.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy quarry plant equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks or dozers.
• Must hold Work Safely or Industry Induction Card.
• Must hold a valid manual driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and mobile quarry plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor crushing, screening and conveying systems.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
• Load and transport quarry materials using mobile equipment when licensed.
• Identify faults, hazards and maintenance needs and report them.
• Complete production and safety documentation accurately.
• Assist with plant shutdowns, clean-ups and maintenance activities.
• Follow site safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance personnel and other operators.

ASQ is a locally owned, family-operated business, which has been servicing Central Victoria since 1970. The business consists of three divisions: ASQ Allstone Quarries, ASQ Premix Concrete and ASQ Garden & Landscape. This diversity enables ASQ to provide products, expertise and solutions for a wide range of domestic, commercial and industrial projects, both locally and throughout Victoria.

Our quarry produces and supplies quality crushed rock and aggregate materials to Bendigo and the surrounding district. We maintain large stockpiles of our products and our sales team provide a fast and safe turnaround. We also offer a mobile crushing operation in addition to the fixed plant, which is located at Newbridge.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for full-time Plant Operators to join us and operate fixed and mobile quarry plants at our ASQ Newbridge site. You will be a team player and eager to learn and further develop your skillset and have a safety focus and positive attitude.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the Plant Operator's responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Operate fixed and mobile plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor crushing, screening and conveying systems.
• Conduct routine pre-start inspections and basic maintenance activities.
• Load and transport quarry materials using mobile equipment where licensed.
• Identify and report equipment faults, hazards and maintenance requirements.
• Complete production and safety documentation accurately.
• Assist with plant shutdowns, clean-ups and maintenance activities.
• Follow site safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel and fellow operators.

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience in operating an excavator, dump truck, loader and/or dozer
• Knowledge and understanding of quarry, construction or mining industries
• Must hold Work Safely or Industry Induction Card
• Must hold a valid manual driver's license
• Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required
• Must be safety-conscious and committed to safe work practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a courteous and polite manner.
• Positive and confident customer interaction and strong work ethics
