ASQ Group in Newbridge, Victoria seeks a full-time Plant Operator to run fixed and mobile quarry plants at our Newbridge site. You’ll be a team player with a safety focus and eagerness to learn.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will operate equipment, monitor systems, perform inspections and assist with maintenance. Weekend work may be required; weekends/public holidays possible. We offer above-award rates, super, and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavator, dump truck, loader or dozer.
• Safety-focused with knowledge of quarry/mining industries.
• Current Work Safely or Industry Induction Card.
• Valid manual driving license.
• Willingness to work weekends/public holidays.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsabilités

• Operate fixed and mobile plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor crushing, screening and conveying systems.
• Conduct routine pre-start inspections and basic maintenance.
• Load and transport quarry materials using mobile equipment where licensed.
• Identify and report equipment faults, hazards and maintenance requirements.
• Complete production and safety documentation accurately.
• Assist with plant shutdowns, clean-ups and maintenance activities.
• Follow site safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel and fellow operators.

Company Overview:

ASQ is a locally owned, family-operated business, which has been servicing Central Victoria since 1970. The business consists of three divisions: ASQ Allstone Quarries, ASQ Premix Concrete and ASQ Garden & Landscape. This diversity enables ASQ to provide products, expertise and solutions for a wide range of domestic, commercial and industrial projects, both locally and throughout Victoria.

Our quarry produces and supplies quality crushed rock and aggregate materials to Bendigo and the surrounding district. We maintain large stockpiles of our products and our sales team provide a fast and safe turnaround. We also offer a mobile crushing operation in addition to the fixed plant, which is located at Newbridge.

About the role:

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the Plant Operator’s responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Operate fixed and mobile plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor crushing, screening and conveying systems.
• Conduct routine pre-start inspections and basic maintenance activities.
• Load and transport quarry materials using mobile equipment where licensed.
• Identify and report equipment faults, hazards and maintenance requirements.

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience in operating an excavator, dump truck, loader and/or dozer
• Knowledge and understanding of quarry, construction or mining industries
• Must hold Work Safely or Industry Induction Card
• Must hold a valid manual driver's license
• Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required
• Must be safety-conscious and committed to safe work practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a courteous and polite manner.
• Positive and confident customer interaction and strong work ethics
