Job summary

Tenterfield Shire Council is recruiting multiple Plant Operators for our Infrastructure Works team across Tenterfield and Urbenville, NSW. This is a long-term opportunity with real career pathways and competitive remuneration.

Join us to operate civil plant, perform road maintenance, and contribute to safety in live traffic environments. Preferred applicants may already hold core civil construction qualifications and a willingness to advance within our council system.

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Civil Construction or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience operating civil plant and road machinery
• Strong safety mindset, particularly in live traffic environments

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain civil plant and road construction machinery
• Perform pothole patching, concreting and general road maintenance
• Complete daily pre-start checks, plant maintenance and timesheets
• Install and maintain road signage, guideposts and erosion control measures
• Perform traffic control duties to ensure safe site operations

Is This You?

• Certificate III in Civil Construction (or willingness to obtain – Council support provided)
• General Construction (White) Card
• Certificate of Competency for relevant plant
• First Aid Certificate
