Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic / Field Service Technician to service and repair heavy plant and diesel machinery in Windsor. You will perform fault finding, diagnostics and preventative maintenance in a field service setting, with a focus on reliability and practical solutions.

The role offers a permanent position, 38-hour week, and a salary of AUD 100,000–120,000 plus a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant/Heavy Diesel/Engineering or related mechanical trade is required.
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy plant, diesel-powered machinery or similar equipment.
• Strong fault-finding across mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy plant and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine faults.
• Maintain service records and ensure safe operation; follow safety procedures.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and resolve technical issues.

Plant Mechanic – Field Service

$100K–$120K Salary + Company Vehicle

Location: Windsor

Permanent | Field Service | 38-Hour Week

Join an established equipment service business supporting customers across the heavy plant, construction and infrastructure sectors. We’re looking for an experienced Plant Mechanic / Field Service Technician to maintain, diagnose and repair a range of heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic with experience in heavy plant, diesel engines or earthmoving equipment who enjoys hands‑on technical work, fault‑finding and providing practical solutions to equipment issues. You'll be part of a specialised service team, working with a diverse range of machinery while receiving a competitive salary package and opportunities to develop your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy plant and equipment
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine faults
• Performing repairs and maintenance on a range of heavy machinery
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and resolving technical issues
• Inspecting machinery to identify faults and ensure safe, reliable operation
• Conducting preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
• Providing technical support and completing service work to a high standard
• Maintaining accurate service records and following workplace safety procedures

What You’ll Need

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel, Engineering or a related mechanical trade
• Previous experience servicing and repairing heavy plant, diesel-powered machinery or similar equipment
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine systems
• Experience with Cummins engines, heavy plant or earthmoving equipment would be highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs
• Professional communication skills and a commitment to workplace safety
• Current driver's licence
• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment medical assessment
