Job summary

Morson Edge Australia in Windsor is seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic / Field Service Technician to maintain, diagnose and repair heavy plant and diesel-powered machinery. This permanent field-based role requires hands-on work across excavation and construction equipment and a Certificate III along with strong fault-finding skills.

You will service and repair equipment, complete service records, and work a standard 38-hour week with overtime options. A company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel, Engineering or related mechanical trade.
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy plant, diesel-powered machinery or similar equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine systems.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy plant and equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine faults.
• Performing repairs and maintenance on a range of heavy machinery.
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and resolving technical issues.
• Inspecting machinery to identify faults and ensure safe operation.
• Conducting preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Providing technical support and completing service work to a high standard.
• Maintaining accurate service records and following workplace safety procedures.

Join an established equipment service business supporting customers across the heavy plant, construction and infrastructure sectors. We're looking for an experienced Plant Mechanic / Field Service Technician to maintain, diagnose and repair a range of heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic with experience in heavy plant, diesel engines or earthmoving equipment who enjoys hands-on technical work, fault-finding and providing practical solutions to equipment issues. You'll be part of a specialised service team, working with a diverse range of machinery while receiving a competitive salary package and opportunities to develop your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy plant and equipment

What You'll Need

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel, Engineering or a related mechanical trade
• Previous experience servicing and repairing heavy plant, diesel-powered machinery or similar equipment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and diesel engine systems
• Experience with Cummins engines, heavy plant or earthmoving equipment would be highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs
• Professional communication skills and a commitment to workplace safety
• Current driver's licence
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
