Job summary

Ditchfield Contracting Pty Ltd – Tomago NSW is seeking a qualified Plant Mechanic to join our team in the new Tomago workshop. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday and focuses on maintenance of heavy earthmoving equipment.

You will fault-find, diagnose and repair breakdowns, with duties including refuelling and greasing, working both in a team and independently to keep plant operating in civil construction and mining projects.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Proficiency in Plant Mechanic and White Card are mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years post trade experience in civil construction/mining.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills; ability to work in teams or independently.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding and diagnosing on heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Repairs and attending breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Refuelling and greasing of equipment.

DITCHFIELD has a solid history of project work delivering bulk earthworks, road construction, civil and mining infrastructure, subdivisions and contract mining projects for over 30years. We're a well-established, self-performing business proud of its culture which has been built on team work, respect and integrity.

Due to the continued growth of the business we are looking for a qualified Plant Mechanic to join our team.This is a fulltime position based in our new Tomago workshop working Monday to Friday.

ABOUT YOU

As a qualified Plant Mechanic with experience on heavy earthmoving equipment, duties will consist of:

• Fault finding and diagnosing
• Repairs and attending breakdowns
• Refuelling and greasing

MANDATORY CRITERIA

• Certificate of Proficiency in Plant Mechanic
• 5 years post trade experience with civil construction and mining experience
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• White Card

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

• Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Kobelco and Volvo mobile plant and equipment
• OEM Training
• HR Drivers Licence
• MDG25
• Forklift or Loader ticket
• Working at Heights Qualifications
