Job summary

Coates is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Hume branch in Canberra. You will maintain and service a fleet of hire equipment, perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults and ensure uptime for customers.

This permanent full-time role offers a Monday–Friday 7am start, attractive hourly rates with overtime penalties, and opportunities for training, career progression, and employee discounts. You will carry out servicing, keep maintenance records, and work across petrol/diesel

Qualifications

• Experience with petrol and diesel motors, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical skills.
• Driver's licence MR or HR preferred.
• Forklift and EWP tickets are beneficial.
• Troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and overhaul of plant equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Maintain records for all service and repair work.
• Keep equipment ready for the next customer.

• Monday to Friday roster, 7am start

Based at the Coates Hume branch, you'll be keeping our fleet of hire equipment in prime condition and ready for the next customer.

Your typical day will focus on:

• Performing preventative maintenance, servicing and overhaul of a range of plant equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
• Maintaining records for all service and repair work
• Minimising operational downtime of equipment
