Job summary

Lismore City Council in New South Wales is seeking a Planning and Delivery Engineer to lead civil infrastructure projects across Waste facilities. In the Capital and Strategic Works team you will plan, design, coordinate and deliver complex projects, ensuring timeliness, budget adherence and compliance with engineering and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related field.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering are desirable.
• Membership of an appropriate professional institute.
• Current Class C Drivers Licence.
• General Construction Induction Card (White card).
• Demonstrated experience in civil engineering, infrastructure planning and project delivery within a local government or similar environment.
• Competence in using relevant engineering, project management and mapping software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver civil infrastructure projects from concept development and feasibility through to construction, commissioning and project close out.
• Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with Council Standards, legislation, engineering codes, environmental requirements and policies.
• Develop, manage and maintain project plans, schedules and delivery programs.
• Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety, environmental, legislative and funding requirements.
• Coordinate project meetings, approvals, governance and reporting with clear progress updates.
• Identify, analyse and resolve technical, operational and delivery challenges with practical engineering solutions.
• Contribute to sustainable, safe and resilient infrastructure meeting community needs and Council objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, government agencies and community representatives.

About this Position:

The Planning and Delivery Engineer will be responsible for delivering vital civil infrastructure projects across Council’s Waste facilities. As part of the Capital and Strategic Works team, you will lead the planning, design, coordination and delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest engineering and regulatory standards. Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants and the community, you will provide technical expertise and drive sustainable, safe and innovative infrastructure outcomes.

What we trust you to deliver:

• Plan, coordinate and deliver civil infrastructure projects from concept development and feasibility through to construction, commissioning and project close out, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and quality outcomes are achieved.
• Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with Council Standards, relevant legislation, engineering codes, environmental requirements and organisational policies.
• Develop, manage and maintain project plans, schedules and delivery programs to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
• Ensure compliance with Work health and Safety, environmental, legislative and funding requirements.
• Coordinate project meetings, approvals, governance requirements and reporting activities providing clear communication and timely updates on project progress.
• Identify, analyse and resolve technical, operational and project delivery challenges through practical and innovate engineering solutions
• Contribute to the delivery of sustainable, safe and resilient infrastructure that meets community needs and support Council's long-term strategic objectives.
• Build and maintain effective and positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, government agencies and community representatives to support the successful delivery of projects.

What you will need to be successful:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or similar.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering are desirable.
• Membership of an appropriate professional institute.
• Current Class C Drivers Licence.
• General Construction Induction Card (White card).
• Demonstrated experience in civil engineering, infrastructure planning and project delivery within a local government or similar environment.
• Competence in using relevant engineering, project management and mapping software.

Full Time:70 hours per fortnight

A competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicant based on their relevant skills and experience
